My personal approach to putting together a presentation
by Colin McCartney
Blog in progress......A few weeks ago I had the honour of giving the Bruce Scott lecture at at RAUKISURA22 meeting in Edinburgh. I was first invited to give the lecture a year previously so had a lot of time to consider subject, content etc. Most well organized conferences or departments will give speakers at least six months to prepare for any presentation of reasonable length. In addition you will usually be invited to present in an area that you have known expertise or you have presented previously.
When I was invited to give the BSL I was given my own choice of topic within regionl anesthesia. Due to my own significant interest in the area and relevance to regional anesthesia I decided to choose "Brachial Plexus Block: Past, Present and Future".
